UVIRA FORGE Studio manual
For Windows · October 2026
Studio has a Help button at the bottom of its left-hand bar (or press F1): help for the screen you are on, and your first flights.
1. Install and sign in
- Download the installer from uvira.in/download and run it.
- Sign in with your UVIRA account (create one on the website first). Studio needs the internet to sign in; after that it works offline for 14 days at a time.
- Studio can be signed in on two computers at once; signing in on a third offers to sign the others out.
- No board yet? Studio has a virtual flight controller built in (see Connect): you can set up, fly and build programs without any hardware.
2. Your plan
- Studio is free for everyone until 31 December 2026 (the launch offer). After that a new account gets 14 days free from its first sign-in, then Rs 3,000 a month + GST, or Rs 199 a month for verified students (verify on the website); each IFC 1.3 on your account adds 2 months, from the first time you connect it to Studio.
- Without an active plan Studio still opens and your work stays yours: flying your own FC, setup, Analyse and exports. The simulation and building and uploading FORGE programs need the plan.
- The Account page shows your plan, when it ends, and Renew.
- While Studio is open and signed in, it counts the minutes it is in use each day (offline too) and sends that count to UVIRA when it is online, with its version and the kind of computer. It never sends your programs, flights, files or what you do on screen.
3. Connect
- The FC and this computer must be on the same Wi-Fi: on the FC's phone page, System › Simulation network joins it to yours (once).
- In Studio, Connect lists the flight controllers on your network by name. Press Connect, then Go to Fly.
- USB is only for firmware updates; everything else goes over Wi-Fi.
No board? The virtual flight controller
- Connect › Start the virtual flight controller. It runs on this computer and flies a drone in the simulation the way the IFC 1.3 does. Studio connects to it by itself in a few seconds.
- Everything in this manual works on it as on a board: Setup, Fly, Simulate, FORGE (Board › Upload to the drone sends a program to it) and Analyse. Its motors are pretend ones; nothing on your computer moves.
- What you set up on it is kept for next time (Documents › UVIRA FORGE Studio › Virtual FC). Stop the virtual flight controller ends it, and so does closing Studio.
- It is part of the simulation, so it needs the plan (free for everyone until 31 December 2026).
4. Fly
- Instruments, Map and 3D on the left; arming, modes, Take off, Return home and Land here on the right; Events underneath, each with its reason.
- Hold to arm starts the motors. Raise the throttle within 10 seconds or it switches off by itself (the countdown shows under the button).
- Without GPS fly STABILISE or ALTHOLD; LOITER, Take off, Return home and flying to a point on the map need GPS.
- Telemetry shows the height, speed, battery, GPS and how much it shakes; a hard landing appears in Events.
- A real drone is flown with your radio on its receiver. In the simulation that receiver is never used: your radio flies it plugged into this computer by USB, through the board's receiver settings.
5. The simulation
The virtual flight controller is always in the simulation: skip step 1. On your board:
- Fly › Simulation › Switch to Simulation mode: the flight controller restarts in Simulation mode and flies a math model of your drone. Switch the drone off and on to go back to Real Flight mode.
- Fly › Sticks › Fly with the radio, with your radio plugged in by USB (USB Joystick on the radio). On the virtual flight controller, Use Studio's sticks works too: W and S throttle, A and D turn, the arrows move it, or a game controller. In ALTHOLD and LOITER the pad marks where the throttle holds the height.
- Pick ALTHOLD, Hold to arm, raise the throttle past the middle, then Land here.
- To leave: restart the FC (phone page or Setup). The virtual flight controller: Connect › Stop the virtual flight controller.
6. Simulate
The world the simulation flies in: the place and temperature (then Restart the simulation in Fly), wind, and actors (other vehicles, markers, your own 3D models).
7. FORGE
Programs that fly the drone, made from blocks: see the FORGE guide. Start from an example (the three School programs) or an empty program, fix anything under Checks, try it with Save and fly in simulation, then Board › Upload to the drone.
8. Analyse
Every connection is recorded by itself. Open a recording to replay the flight: plots (height, speed, attitude, battery, motors), the track, the events and the 3D view. Export CSV, a flight report or a video.
9. Setup
- Flight controller: what it is and how it runs; Start or Restart the simulation.
- Config: every setting, the same as on the phone; import and export a settings file. Settings change only while disarmed.
- Vehicle: describe your drone in detail and Send to the flight controller.
- Pairing: lets this computer send signed commands to a real FC.
- Account and Updates: your plan; new Studio versions and firmware for your board.
- Appearance, Interface size, 3D view: how Studio looks.
10. AI apps
Setup › AI agents connects Studio to an AI app on this computer, so it can help you build FORGE programs and show you around. An AI app can fly only the simulation, never a real drone.
