Drone rules note
Last updated 11 October 2026
The UVIRA IFC 1.3 is a component: a flight controller for building a drone. It is not a drone, and buying it gives no permission to fly.
Under the Drone Rules, 2021 (as amended), the owner and the pilot of a complete drone are responsible for:
- registering the drone and getting its unique identification number (UIN) on the Digital Sky platform, where needed;
- a remote pilot certificate, where needed;
- flying only where it is allowed, following the airspace map (green, yellow and red zones);
- any type certificate the drone needs;
- following the rules of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and the Ministry of Civil Aviation.
Check the current rules on the Digital Sky platform before you fly. Fly safely, away from people, and test new programs in simulation first.
